We brought our 'space' topic work to a close this week with several rocket launches. The children (in pairs) had to design and create a rockets from a 2 litre bottle of bottle. The rockets needed to be spray painted, a nose and fins designed and some NASA flags or designs for the side of the space craft.
To ensure the space craft launched, it needed to be filled with 1/3 of water and have a cork placed in the end. Finally, a bicycle pump was attached, blasting air into the bottle.
