Netball Tournament at Diss High School

A bright, sunny day - perfect for a netball tournament.  Two netball teams joined other local schools for a day of netball at Diss High School.
The event started with the Year 10 Sports Leaders teaching different skills.  It was good to see some ex Roydon pupils in action. They taught us how to defend, pass, shoot and use the correct footwork.  There were lots of short exercises and small games to play.

Defending...

Passing...

Footwork...

Shooting...

After lunch the games began.  There were 12 teams, divided into 2 leagues.  Roydon A team got off to a flying start beating local rivals Bressingham 9 - 1!

The B team lost their first game but warmed up in their second match to beat Garboldisham 3 -0.

There was some great netball in all the matches and a good opportunity to use some of the skills that had been learnt during the morning.

At the end of the afternoon Roydon A  were 4th overall and Roydon B were 7th.  It had been an enjoyable day, with excellent sportsmanship and team spirit.
 Well done!
