This term we have been learning about mountains.

Here is some of the story writing, poetry writing and maths work (on percentages) that we have been doing this term.

Delicious Cookies

The aroma of various cookies could be smelt drifting around school at Owls and Otter made their own cookies.  Lots of different flavours were created.

Caramel and chocolate chip...

M and M's with white chocolate chips...

Honeycombed with chocolate chips...

Chocolate with popping candy...

When they had cooled they were taken home - a tasty tea time treat!

Festive fun at Morrisons

Some of the 6/5 Otters and Owls were invited down to Morrisons in Diss today to spread some Christmas cheer.

They were asked to help packed bags and help people with their shopping - to raise money for the 'Text Santa' appeal.

The children were great ambassadors for the school and raised a lot for those less fortunate than ourselves.

Well done!

Extra extra read all about it!

The children in the otters and owls classes have written newspaper reports to finish our work on World War 1. They focused on the Battle of the Somme and have written some superb reports focussing on quotations, answering the 5 w's and using paragraphs.

Check out some of reports (using comic life) below:

Dazzle Ships

After finding out about Dazzle ships, and how they were used to confuse the German submarines during World War 1, we decided we would design a paint one.

Each Dazzle ship wasn't allowed to use no more than four colours, and needed to be designed to disorientate any onlooker.

Here are some of our designs

Cookies!

Today we started some DT work about cookies. In preparation for making our own we considered the  following things: When and why do people eat cookies?  What sort do they like or dislike?

As you can see we had a lovely afternoon looking at the appearance of cookies, tasting them and discussing their flavours.

At the end of the afternoon everyone designed their favourite cookie.
Watch this space to see what delicious flavours they came up with.
